14U Heat Battle for Bronze!

This past weekend for 14U Heat was a tournament to remember. The boys competed at the OVA Provincial Championships where their skills were put to the test. After an intense first day of pool play, the boys finished the day 2-1 only dropping two sets! The boys came together and after turning scoop into kill they defeated long-time rival, MAC Black.

After finishing off Saturday with a 2-1 record as well, they were matched up to play the Guelph Grizzlies in the Round of 16. From there, a record amount of team scoopies, and an orchestrated cheering section (thanks to Matt Papp), allowed 14U Heat to slide past Guelph and Toronto West and into the semi-final.

In the final two matches, there were big bounces, shlings and massive stuff-blocks and the boys wound up bronze medal winners! After receiving their medals, the team was round up one last time for a special celebration. Liam "Irish" Fitzhenny was named OVA Award of Excellence winner for his stellar play! Lets keep working hard boys and get ready for Nationals!
