17U Ignite GOLD RUSH!

LVC's 17U Ignite girls traveled to Kitchener this past Saturday to participate in the 18U OVA tournament. The team started the day as the 10th seed in a pool of four teams. After splitting the two-set pool games with 17U Chatham Ballhawks and 17U KW Predators they won both sets against the Waterloo Tigers. The result was a three way tie for first with the top three teams separated by only one point on the differential. Ignite came through 2nd and took their quarterfinal against Simcoe 18U in two sets. In the semis the girls played against Chatham again, this time prevailing in three sets. On to the finals with a rematch vs the 17U KW Predators. Our girls took it in two sets, 25-17 and 29-27 to win gold in a thriller of a match with plenty of long and exciting rallies! It was a very satisfying day for our girls as everyone took part in the victory and the girls are coming together and peaking at just the right time.

Coaches Emma and Brian and all the parents are very proud of our girls and they can't wait to play at the 17U and 18U Provincials and for our trip to Edmonton for Nationals in May! Go Fire!!
