18U Ignite Silver at Bugarski Cup
LVC's 18U Ignite girls traveled to Cambridge for the Bugarski Cup March 25th. Missing in action but always in our thoughts was our outside hitter Teagan de Laronde. We started out both pool matches down a set, but won both in 3 sets. The quarter final was a two set victory; the girls seemed to get stronger and the gym got louder with each match. The semi-final was against 17U Predators, a much taller team and a formidable opponent. Once again we dropped the first set. But the team dug deep and worked hard, taking the second set by a good margin and got up 7-0 in the third, winning decisively 15-7 with the crowd roaring. On to the final, we faced Georgetown Impact 17U, again a very tall and strong team. The match went three sets, with LVC coming back to win the second. Unfortunately we couldn't take the third set but ended up with silver for the day. Both the semi and the final were exciting matches full of fantastic long rallies and the gyms were loud with cheers on both sides. Coaches Brian, Cody, and Taylor and all our parents couldn't be more proud - the girls showed amazing resilience and are ready to compete at this year's provincials!
